Gestern gab der aktuelle Lizenznehmer der Walt Disney Classic Collection, Precious Moments, bekannt, dass die Kollektion nicht weitergeführt wird und somit nach über 1.100 Figuren endet.

Offizielle Stellungnahme von Precious Moments:
We truly appreciate the fans and collectors who have been eagerly awaiting the Walt Disney Classics Collection product launch by Precious Moments Incorporated. After extensive consultation with Disney, we have jointly decided not to move forward with the release of the collection. The Walt Disney Classics Collection will be placed into the “vault” alongside other cherished Disney classics. We invite you to continue to celebrate Disney characters and stories with the beautifully crafted collectibles available in the Disney Showcase Collection by Precious Moments. These exquisite pieces are available at Disney Theme Parks, DisneyStore.com, PreciousMoments.com, and specialty retailers.

Das ist aber schade. Ich habe das zwar nie gekauft habe es mir aber immer gerne angesehen. Heißt das, dass es dann in Disneyworld und Disneyland auch keine Figuren mehr zu kaufen gibt? Oder gibt es noch andere Anbieter (Hersteller) die dann in den Parks verkauft werden? Für mich gehört es irgendwie zu den Parks und Hotelshops dazu.

Ja Precious Moments hat schon begonnen die Entwürfe für dieses Jahr in Ihrer eigenen Kollektion herzustellen. Allerdings sind die Figuren nicht mehr so "hochwertig" und detailreich gestaltet.
